Since 1966, Star of Hope has been committed to fulfilling Christ’s command to assist the hurting and needy. Our focus extends beyond boundaries, emphasizing education and health initiatives for children, emergency relief, community development, and vocational programs aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty. At Star of Hope, we uphold the principles of non-discrimination, promoting basic rights to education, health, and freedom.
Our mission spans four organizations in the United States, Sweden, Norway, and Finland, assisting children in 13 countries. Star of Hope’s goal is clear: to equip children worldwide with knowledge, physical well-being, spiritual growth, and social skills through educational programs and impactful partnerships.
The story of Star of Hope begins with Grandma Karin Eriksson, who, despite facing despair, offered her son’s life to God, setting the foundation for a powerful journey. Erik Gunnar, her son, initially resisted God’s call, leading a life marked by a relentless pursuit of business success. However, divine interventions and a transformative encounter with God redirected his path, leading to a commitment to serve a higher purpose.
Star of Hope has evolved into an international aid organization with a focus on education, social programs, and missionary work. From the establishment of the first orphanage in Brazil in 1970 to the present day, our work has expanded to daily assistance for 30,000 children in 16 countries on all continents.
